About the original author: In Febuary of 1998, I was searching the net looking for a suitably romantic link to send as a valentine. In one of these quirks of netsearching fate, I came across this college student's scratch folder which somehow had been indexed by a search engine. There was a very rough, incomplete poem that really started to express what I felt about romance. I tried to go back and track down thee author, but her term was up and she was gone. This work was to beautiful to let die in the dustbin, so I finished it (and this version is from a male perspective), and shared it with a few of my closest friends. When I got the Romantissimo.com domain, this poem was foremost on my mind and I had to share it with you. My thanks go out to the original author, wherever she is, for the romantic inspiration that this has provided to so many. |
